OnDemand brings improved functionality and performance to our Velocity 800, Rugged 800 and IQ1000 data collection terminals. This innovative technology delivers several new exciting features and opens new applications for our customers.
Simplified Clock Installation
When installing an OnDemand terminal, customers need only program into the clock the IP address of the OnDemand server. Once powered and connected to the network, the OnDemand clock will obtain its own IP address via DHCP and download its configuration from TimeForce.
Benefit: IT resources are no longer required to install a clock. This is ideal for companies that have many remote work sites.
Eliminates Employee Capacity Restrictions
When utilizing ClockLink, employee lists had to be downloaded to each terminal. Due to the clock's internal memory capacity, the size of the employee list had to be restricted. Now with OnDemand employee data, including biometric templates is kept in the OnDemand server.
Benefit: There is no limit on the number of employees that can use a single clock!
Real Time Communications
ClockLink is a batch process, communicating with the clocks at predefined intervals. With OnDemand, punches are transmitted to the server in milliseconds.
Benefit: Punch data is available immediately. No more waiting to run tardy or absence reports!
Greatly Enhanced Cell Phone Clock Operations
ClockLink was not capable of transferring biometric templates to cell clocks. This required registering the employee at each cellular clock they may use. OnDemand sends employee biometric templates and schedules to cell clocks.
Benefit: Simplified biometric template management with cellular clocks. Employees can go to a new location and begin to use the clocks immediately!
Improved Distribution of Biometric Templates
Now with OnDemand, once an employee registers their finger for biometric clocks, the template is immediately stored on the server for access by any OnDemand clock. You no longer have to wait for the template to be picked up and distributed to the terminals, which often took 24 hours.
Benefit: Employees can begin to punch biometrically immediately. As soon the employee enters their pin at a clock, it will retrieve the biometric profile from the OnDemand server.
100% Availability
ClockLink terminals are "off-line" during up/downloads, preventing employees from punching. OnDemand communication happen in the background and does not disrupt normal clock operations.
Benefit: Clocks are available anytime for employee use.
Simplified Clock Maintenance
OnDemand enables the user to schedule when a terminal will be "re-flashed" updating its internal programming. More importantly, the clock's configuration is now set via TimeForce which has an easy to use GUI vs. the clock's text based user interface.
Benefit: Simplified clock configuration and maintenance.
